Vietta D. Plaisted Obituary (1934 - 2005)

Augusta Vietta D. Plaisted, 71, of Townsend St., died Thurs. Sept. 22, 2005 at MaineGeneral Med. Ctr. in Waterville. She was born in Unity, Jan. 14, 1934, the daughter of Gerard and Katherine Beach Duplessis. Mrs. Plaisted was a graduate of Erskine Academy. She had worked for Displaced Homemakers in Waterville and was a personal care attendant for several years. She was a 50 year member of 179 Post American Legion and a member of the China Auxiliary and the Literacy Volunteers in Waterville.. She had worked for the Commissioner of Housing Authority in Waterville for 10 years. She also worked in the beginning of the Food Co-op in Waterville. She is survived by her sons, Bruce W. Plaisted and girlfriend Kathy Bellemare of Dover Foxcroft, Boyd M. Plaisted and wife Yvette and Brian L. Plaisted and wife Celeste all of South China; six sisters, Gretta Thibodeau of FL., Kay Carey of Waterville, Gerry Mullen of Wis., Joanne Colman of Bangor, Mary Bahnson of Falmouth, Shirley Kapopolus of Hudson, MA.; two brothers, Leo Duplessis of Benton and Larry Dodge of Thorndike; five grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2005 at the Center Vassalboro Baptist Church, Cross Hill Rd., Vassalboro.
