Waterville-Theresa D. Guite, 96, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 1, 2017 at the Woodlands Assisted Living after a brief illness. Theresa was born on June 30, 1920, the 8th of 14 children to George and Rosanna Bourque of Waterville. She was educated in the parochial schools in Waterville and worked at the Lockwood Mills. A lifelong resident of Waterville, Theresa married the love of her life, Rene Guite on June 28, 1947 and was blessed with 64 years of marriage. His death on February 3, 2012 left a huge hole in her heart and she prayed daily to be reunited with him in heaven. A woman of deep faith, Theresa was also known for her keen wit and honest opinions. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching all sports especially hockey and the Boston Bruins.\r\n\r\nTheresa was the loving mother of 2 daughters, Joyce Vigue-Morrissette of Winslow and Linda Hall-Huard and her husband Louis of Gorham, Maine; 5 grandchildren, Derek Vigue and his wife Heather of Fairfield, Jared Vigue and his wife Cristina of Munich, Germany, Megan Fossa and her husband Mario of Winslow, Renee Hall and her fiance George Vose of Boston, Mass and Rachel Hall of Bangor. She adored her three great-grandchildren Abbie and Lucas Vigue of Fairfield and Emery Fossa of Winslow. She also leaves behind her sister Jackie Charron, brother Raymond Bourque and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and 11 siblings. Theresa has lived the longest in the Bourque family to the age of 96.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. David Preston and his nurse Debbie for their many years of excellent, compassionate care to our mom; Cindy Isbell from Hairworks for always making our mom feel special and look beautiful; the staff of the Woodlands Assisted Living for all the care they provided these last 3 years.\r\n\r\nAt Theresa's request there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Winslow with her nephew, Reverend Gerald Levesque officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service at the Canadian Legion Lot in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Waterville.
