Waterville - Stefan Julian Turlo, 67, passed from natural causes on May 20, 2022, in Waterville, ME. He was born on May 12, 1955, son of Stephen and Nancy (Togni) Turlo. Stefan attended parochial and public schools in Waterville and Winslow. He was a football, basketball and Track & Field athlete at Winslow High School, where he graduated in 1973. \r\n\r\nAfter attending a post-grad year at MCI, Stefan enrolled at the University of Maine as a Civil Engineering major. While at the University, he earned his "M" letter for Track. After leaving college, Stefan worked for various construction companies. He became ill with schizophrenia, a disease he bravely battled for the rest of his life. \r\n\r\nStefan enjoyed listening to sports broadcasts and socializing with neighbors. He had a great sense of humor and kind spirit. He was always ready with a funny story and smile. \r\n\r\nStefan was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Nancy. He is survived by his brother John (Kathleen Mathieu), and sisters Katherine White (Gene White, deceased) and Jane Turlo (Manuel Chavarria), nieces and nephews and many cousins.\r\n\r\nThe family would like to thank all the care providers, who assisted Stefan for many years. Service will be private.
