Waterville -- Rose Estelle Lachance known as Estelle, 91, died Sat. July 26,. 2014 at Lakewood after a short stay. She was born in Waterville, Nov. 27, 1922 the daughter of Charles and Marie Boudreau Theriault. Estelle was a graduate of Waterville High School. She had worked for C. F. Hathaway Shirt Factory for many years. Estelle had also been a cook at Notre Dame School and a bookkeeper at Notre Dame Church. She had been a member of the Cursillo Movement, Ladies Guild, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and The Rosaries Makers of Augusta. Estelle is survived by her husband of more than 65 years, Roland J. Lachance of Waterville; two daughters, Elaine E. Lachance of Augusta and Ms. Jane Pooler of Waterville; a son, Peter Lachance and his fianc, Janice Hamilton of Brunswick; two sisters, Mrs. Norman Theresa Dutil of Oakland and Mrs. Robert Amanda Rossignol of Waterville; four grandsons; one granddaughter; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and one great-great-granddaughter. Estelle was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Francis, Peter, Timothy, Martin, George and Joseph; two sisters, Mrs. James Agnes Thibodeau and Mrs. Adrien Regina Morneau; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Lachance. There will be a visiting hour from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Notre Dame Church, 116 Silver St., Waterville on Friday, Aug.8, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 A.M. with Rev. James Roy officiating. Burial will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Masses may be said for Estelle or memorial donations in Estelle's name may be made to Maine Center for the Blind, The Iris Network, c/o Contributions Office, 189 Park Ave., Portland, ME 04102.
