Robert G. Mosher, 83, of Winslow passed away peacefully April 16, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born Aug. 24, 1928 in South Boston, MA the son of Robert G. Mosher and Dorothy Talbot Mosher. He graduated from high school and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy to serve his country in the Korean War and the Vietnam War where he was attached to the Marine Corps as a corpsman. During his military career he earned the Bronze Star, Combat Action Ribbon and the Commendation Medal. He retired after 20 years of service. After retiring he and his family moved to Maine and he worked for Seton Hospital in the food service dept. from 1968 until 1974. He also worked at Mount St. Joseph from 1974 until he retired in 1991. During his military career he met and married the love of his life, Dorothy M. Callahan. They shared 58 plus years together and raised five daughters. He loved his camp on Snow Pond and was known for fantastic Sunday brunches. He also loved swimming, boating and going to Florida for the winters. He also loved to travel with his wife going to Hawaii and with Charlie Company every other year for get-togethers with his military comrades. He also was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was predeceased by his parents; his only sister Mary; and his brothers Tom and Jim. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Mosher of Winslow; five daughters, Judy Belanger and husband Larry of Fairfield, Jean Casey and husband Patrick of Clinton, Joan Clement and husband Mark of Fairfield, Robbie Laverriere and husband Norm of Clinton and Denise Chamberlin and husband Ron of Waterville; two brothers, Richard Mosher of FL. and Bill Mosher of Billerica, MA; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Fri., Apr. 20, 2012 at Notre Dame Church, 112 Silver St., Waterville. Burial with military honors will be held at 9 a.m. Mon. Apr. 23, 2012 at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
