Rita A. Gervais, 64, died Mon., Aug. 5, 2013 at the Pittsfield Rehab & Nursing Center in the arms of her sister, Madeline. She was born in Waterville, July 17, 1949 the daughter of Norman and Alice Bechard Gervais. Rita attended Waterville High School and received her diploma from the Adult Education Program in 1981. Rita had lived in her own apartment for several years in Unity. She was employed for 19 years at Sacred Heart Boarding Home in Waterville. She volunteered at L.C. Dill Center-Classic Cleaners in Skowhegan for several years and had attended Muskie Center Adult Daybreak Program. Rita enjoyed car racing, football, super bowl party, Patriots, Boston Bruins, and crocheted afghans for babies for Ronald McDonald House in Bangor. She received awards for Special Olympics teams. She liked attending soccer and track events with her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and by a niece, Michelle Chiott. Rita is survived by a brother, Roger Gervais and wife Roxanne of Randolph; nephews, Roger Gervais and wife Laurie of Wisconsin, and Ted Gervais and fiance Alishea Dowing of Bangor; a sister, Madeline Foster and husband Richard of Unity; nephew, Michael Chiott of Bethel; two nieces, Rose Marie Bick and husband Anthony of St. Albans, and Samantha Foster Wells and husband Michael of Unity; three great nieces, BreAnna, Brandy and Zenolia; four great nephews, Richard, Chadwick, Heirdontias and Jace; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many special friends at L.C. Dill Center and Muskie Center. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Senior Spectrum, Muskie Center Daybreak Program, 38 Gold St., Waterville, ME 04901 or to L.C. Dill Center, 181 Water St., Skowhegan, ME 04976. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Thurs., Aug. 8, 2013 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Fri., Aug. 9, 2013 at Notre Dame, 112 Silver St., Waterville. Committal prayers and burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove St., Waterville.
