Richard M. Nadeau Obituary (1951 - 2025)

Richard M. Nadeau, 74, passed away at his home on Sunday morning, December 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Richard was born on November 7, 1951, in Waterville, Maine, the oldest son of Clermont and Fernande Nadeau. He graduated from Winslow High School in 1970. He has been lovingly welcomed into heaven by his parents and his beloved brother, Patrick, who is deeply missed. Richard worked at Sappi in Skowhegan for 32 years, affectionately known to his coworkers as “Dickie-Dog.” A dedicated and hardworking provider, he took great pride in caring for his family. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, and he especially enjoyed fishing trips up to camp with his son, Tim, and his brother, David. He also took great joy in supporting his grandchildren, rarely missing a chance to watch them play sports and cheering them on with pride. He was a proud father to his five children: Gregory Nadeau (Molly), Dan Nadeau (Stefanie), Christy Daigle (Shawn), Erik Nadeau (Sara), and Timothy Nadeau (Amber). He also shared a special bond for 48 years with the mother of his children, Blanche Theriault, a connection that remained strong until the end. Richard is survived by his siblings: Linda Nadeau, Marlene Nadeau, Rachel Mastriano (Marc), Jolene Price (Adrian), and his younger brother, David Nadeau (Christa). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind fourteen cherished grandchildren: Cameron, Tyler, Hannah, Kobe, Josh, Benjamin, Braden, Landan, Zoe, Ryder, Nora, Reese, Emery, and Alden, as well as one great-grandchild, Wesley. Per Richard’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A spring burial with family members will be held at a later date.
