Randolph J. Michaud Obituary (1917

Waterville, Maine Randolph J. Michaud 89 dedicated husband to Rose A. Corbin Michaud, loving dad to Sandra Locklin, Richard Michaud, Anne Michaud, Jeffrey Michaud and grandfather to Sarah Michaud and Samantha Michaud passed away Saturday November 18, 2006 at 2:30 A.M. at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. He was born in Eagle Lake, Maine on February 3, 1917 the son of Denis and Mattie Dubois Michaud. He attended schools in Eagle Lake and High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II in the South Pacific Theater with Company ''G''. He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church here in Waterville for over 60 years, during which time he was an offering collector, money counter and usher for religious and sacramental services. He also served as chairman for the annual Catholic Charities appeal for the diocease. He was a former member of the Sacred Heart League of Notre Dame Church and Parish Council. He was also a board member of the Notre Dame Credit Union and retired from Scott Paper Company in April 1969 due to an industrial accident. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.He was a member of the MacCrillis-Rousseau Post VFW in Winslow , the Bourque-Lanigan Post American Legion in Waterville and theWaterville Council Knights of Columbus # 148 and the Fourth Degree Assembly. He enjoyed playing cribbage with his daughter Sandra , his niece Arlene Michaud and special friend to the family , Eva Thurlow. He also enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the New England Patroits. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments which he communicated that to everyone he spoke with. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings Belle Cote, Emile Michaud, Aurore Vaillancourt and Elysee Michaud. In addition to his wife , children and grandchildren, he is survived by his brother Alberic Sirois and wife Theresa, special people in the family: Gerard Broulliard and Jennifer Ross; sisters-in-law, Arlene Fischer, Eva Babicz and Cecile Ellis; also many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the emergency room staff at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville and the special care unit 4 staff at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Friends may call Monday November 20, 2006 from 7- 9 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home 10 Elm Street Waterville. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday November 21, 2006 at 11 A.M. at Notre Dame Church, 112 Silver Street, Waterville. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery Grove Street Waterville.
