Ora B. Roy, 95, passed away on July 3rd 2013 at MaineGeneral Medical Center Thayer Unit, Waterville. She was born on October 20th 1917 in Augusta , Maine to Francis and Georgina Gabaury Morin. Ora was educated in Augusta and Waterville Schools. She worked for many years, and retired from C.F. Hathaway Shirt Company in Waterville. Ora was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and also a Gold Star Mother. She belonged to St. John the Baptist Church where she donated many hours of work in their thrift store. Ora was predeceased in death by her husband of 28 yrs., Ronaldo J. Roy, of Frenchville; her oldest son, Corporal Robert Roy , US Marine Corps.; her five sisters, Irene Rancourt of Waterville, Marion Bauqut, Dolores Brunelle, and Albertine Hamlin of Augusta also Pearl Major of R.I.; four brothers, Eddie, Arthur and Joseph Morin of Augusta, and Lionel Morin of Winslow; her son in law, Ronald Doyon of Winslow; her brother- in- law, Harold Roy; and sister- in- law, Theresa Roy of Winslow. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Doyon of Winslow; son, David A. Roy and his wife Germaine of Oakland; one granddaughter, Lisa Roy of Belgrade; one grandson, Justin Roy of Lakewood Colorado; three great- grandchildren, Jalynn , Graham, and Grace Drown of Belgrade; Also brothers and sisters in- law, Gloria Bernier, Emil and Stella Poirier and Edman and Pricilla Roy. She was a strong independent woman and was a joy to be around. She will be missed by her family and friends, especially her godchild, Father Frank Morin, and grandchild 3 year old Graham who shared her love for candy and sweets, and knew all her hiding places. A celebration of her life will be held at her home in Oakland at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the Humane Society, 100 Webb Road, Waterville, Maine 04901.
