Marie Shirley Sack Obituary (1933 - 2008)

Waterville, Maine Marie Shirley Sack 75 died early Sunday morning at MaineGeneral Medical Center-Thayer Unit with her family beside her. She was born in Waterville, Maine on February 16, 1933 the daughter of Charles and Margaret Doiron King. She was a graduate of Waterville High School, Class of 1951 and was a sports cheerleader. She was formerly employed as a telephone operator for New England Telephone for several years and then began working as an answering service operator here in Waterville. Later, she was a laundry department assistant at Mid-Maine Medical Center in Waterville for several years until retirement. She enjoyed knitting and traveling with her husband Richard on vacations to Canada and other destinations. She is survived by her loving husband Richard P. Sack of Waterville: her son: Richard P. Sack III of Gorham,Maine two daughters: Deborah Anne Blanchard of Clinton, Maine and Liza Lee Ruest of Waterville,Maine. two sisters: Jeannette Marie Martin of Bangor, Maine and Evelyn M. Murray of Rumford,Maine. also by 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call today from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Gallant Funeral Home 10 Elm Street Waterville, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church 70 Pleasant Street Waterville,Maine. After services, cremation will take place and committal prayers and burial will be at a later date to be announced.
