Waterville Marcella Hazel Quirion, 86, past away peacefully Sat. Dec. 5, 2009 at Mount St. Joseph in Waterville surrounded by her family. She was born in Lewiston, May 4, 1923, daughter of Marshall and Mary Jalbert Pooler. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in life came from doing for others and she will always be remembered for her caring and giving spirit. She loved to cook and carried that passion into the Winslow School lunch program where she worked for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Robert; her parents; grandson Michael Quirion; two brothers, Joe Bureau and Woodrow Pooler; three sisters, Irene Grant, Mary Simpson and Camille Hurd. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Robert H. Quirion Jr. and Roberta and Roger Quirion and Tammey all of Winslow; two daughters and their husbands, Carol Ann Bouchard and Gerald of Merrimac, N.H. and Linda Lessard and Daniel of Naples, FL.; five grandsons, Steven Bouchard, Jeffrey, Jason and Eric Lessard and Matthew Quirion; five granddaughters, Ann Willette, Jennifer Thomas, Denise Iaia, Christine and Ashely Quirion; and by ten great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunset Home for the love and care they gave her over the past four years. They would also like to thank the second floor skilled staff at Mount St. Joseph for the wonderful care she received during the last week of her life. At the request of the family there will be no visiting hours. A Mass in celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Sat., Dec. 12, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow. Committal prayers and burial will be at 10 a.m. Mon., Dec. 14, 2009 at Fr. Leonard LeClair Chapel, Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive in Augusta. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be given in her memory to the Salvation Army, 225 Main St., Waterville, ME 04901. Arrangements are with the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville.
