Lorraine King, 82, passed over to a greater place Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Unit after a long illness. She was born in Palakta, FL. Mar. 9, 1926, daughter of Jerome and Laura Lagasse Hebert. She was educated in Waterville schools and was employed by Diamond Match, Fort Halifax Hatchery and Pleasant Hill Nursing Home until her retirement. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was attending her grandchildren's academic and sports events. She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Ernest Roy in 1991; and by a brother, Wilfred Hebert. She is survived by a daughter, Kay Ann Tesar and a son, Donald Roy and wife, Patty all of Winslow; three grandchildren, Andrew Roy and wife Christine of Waltham, MA, Emily Freeman and husband Scott of Haverhill, MA and Kristen Roy of Scarborough; a sister, Pauline Delisle and a brother, Clifford Hebert and wife Gloria all of Waterville; a godchild, Donna Blood and husband Courtney of Benton; and by several nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thank you to John Burke, M.D. and the staff on 3 North at the Thayer Unit. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15 at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tues., Sept. 16, at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove St., Waterville.
