Waterville - Leo R. Deschenes, 91, passed away after a brief illness at Oak\r\nGrove Center in Waterville, Maine. He was born in Madison, to the late\r\nWilfred and Irene (Bushey) Deschenes. He was married to Rita (Mercier)\r\nDeschenes for 69 years. \r\nLeo graduated from Madison High School where he played football. After\r\ngraduation he worked as a printer, owning City Job Print in Waterville. \r\nLeo was an active community member. He was involved in the Corpus Christi\r\nChurch (Sacred Heart Church), Waterville Lions Club serving as a District\r\nGovernor, Waterville Elks Club and the Waterville Chamber of Commerce. \r\nHe is survived by his wife Rita, daughter Ann and husband David Vashon;\r\ngrandchildren, Greer Vashon and Evan Vashon and wife Phina; great\r\ngrandchild and his sister, Collette Jensen.\r\nHe was predeceased by his brothers Richard and Donald Deschenes and Ruth\r\nForbes.\r\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, September\r\n9, 2019 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 116 Silver Street, Waterville.\r\nArrangements are under the direction and care of Gallant Funeral Home, 10\r\nElm Street, Waterville.
