Waterville Lena Watfa Fotter, 97, of Waterville died May 19, 2009 at Mount St. Joseph in Waterville. She was born Mar. 3, 1912, in Madison, the daughter of David John and Tamamie Karem Joseph. She had worked at the Lockwood Cotton Mill and as a waitress at the Cresent Hotel and the Jefferson. Lena Watfa loved her family and had a great passion for cooking, gardening and traveling. She was the greatest cook and was always cooking for family and friends. She was a hard worker. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Percy; a son, Brian; brothers, Elias, Joe Dave, Jimmy, Alfred; sister, Julia Campion. Survivors include her son, Wayne Fotter and wife Kay of Pittsfield; daughter, Joyce Bushey of Oakland; brothers, John D. Joseph of Waterville, Phillip Joseph of Florida, Tony Joseph and wife Joyce of Waterville; sisters, Celia John of W. Virginia, Mary Ann Perry of FL., Selma Thompson and husband Don of IL., Josie Lafley of VA. and Madeline Joseph of Waterville; six grandchildren, Michelle Jensen and husband Sten of Arlington, VA., Jimi Fotter of Lewiston, David Fotter and wife Tracie of Schertz, TX., Jeff Fotter and wife Cheryl of Gorham, Debra Pronovost and husband Eric of Cumberland, and Kimberly Fotter of Gorham; great-grandchildren, Shannan and Marcus Fotter, Peter and Andrew Jensen, Zachary, Alexis, Lauren and Jordyn Fotter, Nicholas and Taylor Pronovost, Jackson Fotter; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 7p.m. with a Maronite Wake Service at 6 p.m. Thursday May 28, 2009 at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Fri., May 29, 2009 at St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church, Front St., Waterville with Rev. Larry Jensen officiating and Rev. Mr. Peter Joseph assisting. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove St., Waterville.
