Augusta, Maine-Joseph T. Fortin died Thursday June 2, 2016 at Glenridge Nursing Facility in Augusta, Maine after a prolonged illness. He was born in Waterville, Maine on December 11, 1931, the son of Joseph T. and Josephine (Quirion) Fortin. He was educated in Waterville schools. He worked at the former Elmwood Hotel and played drums for various local bands. He is survived by 2 nieces: Trudy (Couturier) Caron and Maryann (Tremblay) Huper; 3 nephews: Larry Tremblay Jr., Stephen Tremblay, and Tim Tremblay; and several great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; five sisters: Fernande Couturier, Constance Fortin, Theresa Fournier, Madeline Tremblay and Anita Fortin; and one brother: Lucien Fortin. There will be one hour visitation Wednesday, June 15 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville, Maine followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame Church, 116 Silver Street, Waterville, Maine.
