China, Maine Joseph W. Boivin 80 known as ''Bill'' passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning at his residence. He was a long-time resident of Waterville and had formerly lived at 6 Pearl St. He was born in China, Maine on Apr. 11, 1929, the son of William and Roseanna Nadeau Boivin. He attended schools in China, Maine and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea. Bill was employed by the Maine Central Railroad and by the former Keyes Fibre Co. from which he retired in 1994 with 35 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger years until health reasons forced him to take the sidelines. If not a fan of the Boston Red Sox then you knew a conversation with Bill would be a short one. He was a quiet man but never afraid to get his point across to you. He was a lifetime member of the Forest J. Pare Post VFW in Waterville. Bill married the former Theresa Roy on August 6, 1949. She passed away on Jan. 7, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Sisneros and her husband George of Colorado Springs, CO.; sons, Donald of Waterville and Larry and wife Angela of Richmond; brother, Henry of the Mid Coast; sisters, Mary Jane Bredeau of Las Vegas, NV. and Rita Boivin of Sidney; grandchildren, Jeff Boivin of Chicago, Taylor Boivin of Richmond, Chris Sisneros and Scott Sisneros both of CO.; great grandchildren, Christian and Caitlin Sisneros of CO.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Theresa; brothers, Robert, Arnold, Ubald, Roger, Louis, Paul, Arthur; sisters, Yvette Derepentigny and Lucille Strout. As per his request there will be no public viewing. A public service will be held at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta with burial to follow on Thurs. afternoon, May 7, 2009 with a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Breast Cancer Relief Foundation, P.O. Box 5630, Augusta, ME 04332-5630 in his name would be appreciated. ''See ya on the other side Pops''.
