John W. Johnson, Jr. Obituary (1935 - 2006)

Winslow John W. Johnson, Jr., 70 died unexpectedly Fri., Feb. 17, 2006 at his home in Winslow. He was born Aug. 8, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA., the son of John W. and Anna M. Johnson. He was the oldest of 10 children. John served in the U.S. Marine Corps. After meeting his beloved wife in 1955, John and Patricia eventually settled in Winslow to raise their family. He worked as a self-employed carpenter/builder until 1994, at which time he enjoyed semi-retirement while operating a computer repair business out of his home. John enjoyed family gatherings. He did all of the cooking and his #1 rule was ''stay out of my kitchen.'' He enjoyed spending time with is grandchildren, reading to learn, and watching movies with family and playing cards with special friends, Sally and Milton. He was an avid gardener. His mother-in-law, Cora Corey of Waterville, his father John W. Johnson Sr., his mother Anna M. Schmidt and one sister, Anne Wroten all of PA. predeceased John. John leaves behind a beloved family, his wife, Patricia of 47 years; daughters, Anna Bouchard and husband Dana of Oakland, their children, Cindy and Michael, and great-grandchild, Trenton Murray; Linda Marshall and husband Paul of Chandler, AZ and their daughter, Abby; Terry Breton and husband Blane of Waterville and their daughters, Nicole and Miranda; Jody Leary and husband Chuck of China and their daughters, Olivia and Paige; and son, John Johnson and his wife Lisa of China and their daughters, Kinsey, Lexi and Meagan; one brother-in-law, Vincent Corey of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his sisters, Pat, Becky, and Doreen, and his brothers, Henry ''Buddy'', George, Robert, David and Ronnie and their families. Visitation hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thurs. Feb. 23 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. Deacon Peter Joseph will perform a funeral service Fri., Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church, Front St., Waterville.
