WATERVILLE - Jerome W. Landry, 83, of Winslow, went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2022. Jerome, aka "Jay" "Papa" "Pepere", was born August 31, 1939, in Winslow, a son of Henry Landry and Felecite (Giroux) Landry. He grew up with his two brothers, Lawrence and Valmond Landry in Winslow. Jerome graduated from Winslow High School in 1957. He was quick witted and always ready with a joke to make people laugh. He worked for Cottle's Supermarkets and later for Shop-n-Save and Hannaford Supermarkets for a total of 45 years. He was an Elk's Club member and served as a board member at Notre Dame/New Dimensions Credit Union. Jerome enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida. He loved fishing and enjoyed sitting in the boat with a cold beer just "wetting a line". He was a strong family man with a heart of gold who always put everyone else's needs first. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Felecite Landry; brother Lawrence "Larry" Landry, sister -in-law Carmen Landry, and nephew Peter Landry. He is survived by his wife Shirley (Trahan) Landry, son Jeff Landry and wife Kathy Landry, a daughter Jayne (Landry) Roberge and husband John, as well as 4 grandchildren, Alex Landry, Nicole Landry, Jayme Roberge and Jared Roberge and 2 great-grandchildren, Cayden and Claire Landry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 10 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 116 Silver Street, Waterville. Burial to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove Street, Waterville. Arrangement is under the direction and care of Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St, Waterville.
