Waterville - Jeffrey A. Coombs, 41, passed away unexpectedly Fri., May 29, 2015. He was born Apr. 22, 1974 in Augusta the son of Gary and Susan Coombs. Jeff graduated from KVCC with an Associate Degree in Accounting and currently was attending Thomas College, working towards his Masters. He also graduated from the Police Academy in Vassalboro and was a Police Officer in the town of Oakland. Jeff also worked as Associate Director of Security at Colby College in Waterville where he worked for nearly twenty years. Jeff was a family man. He enjoyed long rides in the car, especially his trips to the coast to watch the sun rise. He also enjoyed carpentry projects. His lucky number was 8 and royal blue and forest green were his favorite colors. His favorite shows were Leverage and Blue Bloods. He enjoyed romantic comedies and he had a great passion for music. His favorite song was Love Theme from St. Elmo's Fire, the instrumental version. Jeff loved to eat breads and would never pass up a good steak. He loved his donuts and coffee. He was a very caring person, someone you could always depend on. Jeff was a hard worker his whole life. Jeff was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his son, Corey; daughter, Samantha; adopted son, Aaron; mother, Susan Coombs; sister, Carrie Coombs and her partner, Scott Dorval; niece, Courtney Dorval; nephew, Gage Dorval. Jeff also had two half-sisters, Roxanne and Sarah and their children; and several cousins. Jeff's sense of humor and kind, beautiful smile will be missed by all. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sat., June 6, 2015 at the Oakland-Sidney United Methodist Church with Rev. Effie McLain officiating. Burial will be private.
