Jeanne Amanda Smith, 70, of Waterville died unexpectedly Thurs., June 9, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Waterville, June 5, 1941 the daughter of Leo and Virginia Lesonde Pinette. Mrs. Smith had been a CNA at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Campus in Waterville. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW in Winslow and of the American Legion Auxiliary in Waterville. She loved playing Beano, Bingo, going to Bangor slots, and family gatherings. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Percy G. Smith who died July 17, 2002; two brothers, Arthur and Bobby Smith; and by a sister, Lorraine Pinette. Survivors include a son, James Albert Smith of Winslow; two daughters, Sheila Marie McKenney of Waterville and Patricia Ann Smith of Winslow; two brothers, Jerome Pinette of East Hampton, MA. and Gerald York of Fairfield; two sisters, Alice Gurney of Fairfield and Joanne Raymond of East Hampton, MA.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, June 13 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tues., June 14 at Notre Dame Church, 112 Silver St., Waterville. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove St., Waterville.
