Jane Trepanier

–

Oakland, Maine

Oakland - After a long period of declining health, which she faced with strength, resilience, humor and grace, Jane Caroline Trepanier was called home to the Lord on Sunday, August 9th, 2026.

She was born on October 7th, 1948, in Waterville, Maine, to Carl E. Flibbert and Geraldine A. Flibbert (Boutin). Although she did return to graduate from Waterville High School, the family moved frequently (both locally and as far away as Arizona) when she was growing up. That changed when she married the love of her life, Michael E. Trepanier, on June 3rd, 1972, and settled in Oakland the following year. That same house became her forever home.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed many activities: reading, bowling, making puzzles, watching football, fishing, gardening, canning vegetables, shopping, and taking trips. You could often find her (and Michael) spending time on their backyard deck either entertaining family and friends or enjoying life’s quieter moments like watching hummingbirds (her favorite) feed. Her homemade pickles, blueberry muffins, and salsa were favorites amongst loved ones and always highly sought after. If you knew Jane, you knew that she loved playing card games. The deck of cards would come out at most gatherings, which only added to the fun. Above all, she loved spending time with family and friends. She (and Michael) were blessed with many wonderful friends. To them, Jane and Mike were “attached at the hip.” Her possessions included countless mementos from special times shared with loved ones.

Aside from various stints of part-time work (and being an unofficial food critic), she took great pride in being an extraordinary homemaker. “Her” house was always immaculate, the budget was always balanced, the calendar was always up-to-date, but more importantly, her love was always felt. She always put her family first.

Jane was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Douglas Flibbert; her nephew, Matthew Flibbert; her brother-in-law, Roland Trepanier; her cousin-in-law, David Proulx, as well as many other close relatives and friends. She is survived, and deeply missed, by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Michael; her daughter, Tina Allen and husband Steve; granddaughter, Sierra Walter and husband Del (great granddaughter, Eloise); grandson, Skyler Allen; son, Chad and wife Amy; nephew, Shawn Trepanier; sister-in-law, Patricia Flibbert; niece, Lisa Anderson and husband Joe; niece, Carla Poole.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the tremendous amount of love and support received during this difficult time, especially from Louise Proulx and the Paquet family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Notre Dame du Perpetual Secours Catholic Church, 116 Silver St., Waterville, ME, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the mass.
