James Thibodeau\r\n1922-2017\r\n\r\nThe Villages, Florida-James (Jimmy) Thibodeau 94, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2017 in the Villages, Florida. He was born in Waterville, Maine on May 15, 1922 the son of Alfred and Irene (Letourneau)Thibodeau. He attended Waterville schools, and went to work for Hollingsworth and Whitney. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, seeing action in Europe and North Africa. \r\nHe returned to Waterville and married Agnes Theriault, and they had two sons. He spent most of his life in the Waterville area, retiring from Scott Paper Co. in 1985. Upon retirement, He and Agnes enjoyed traveling and going out to eat with friends and relatives until her passing in 2012. He was a life member of the Bourque-Lanigan American Legion Post 5 of Waterville, Maine. He was predeceased by his wife Agnes, his parents Alfred and Irene and a sister Pearl Paradis. He is survived by his two sons, Paul and wife Dottie Thibodeau of the Villages, Florida and Carl and wife Debi Thibodeau of Pahrump. Nevada. He also leaves behind a grandson, Scott Lafferty of the Villages, Florida as well as his in-laws Norman and Theresa Dutil, Amanda Rossignol and Marilyn Theriault, along with many nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday July 7, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Notre Dame Church 112 Silver Street Waterville, Maine followed by a luncheon in the church hall. Committal prayers with military honors will be held Monday July 10, 2017 at 9 A.M. at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery 169 Mount Vernon Road Augusta, Maine. Arrangements were made through the Gallant Funeral Home 10 Elm Street Waterville, Maine.
