Belgrade-Jakob (Jake) Allen Murray, 21, tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident in Corinna Maine on October 10, 2020.\r\n\r\nJake was born on December 2, 1998 in Portland Maine. Son of James Murray of Clinton and Taryn Murray of Sidney, and brother of Jayda Alaine Murray. He spent most of his young life in Waterville, however also lived in Canaan in his later teenage years. Most recently resided in Belgrade, and in his own apartment. His sister was the apple of his eye, and he was so proud of all of her accomplishments.\r\n\r\nJake attended Waterville Public Schools up until his sophomore year, then transferred to Skowhegan Area High School to complete his Junior and Senior year to graduation. The day Jake walked down to the football field on that first day of school, he felt that he had been there the entire 10 years prior. The Skowhegan school and students welcomed him with grace and so much love. Jake was most passionate about football, a love he carried with him since he first set foot on the field when he was 4 years old. He shined particularly in Skowhegan's football program, giving his coaches the intuition and encouraged Jake to take his talents to track and field as well. Even in track, he thrived; nearly breaking the school's impressive long jump record. After high school, Jake pursued college at KVCC. It was a humble start to a life that his family and friends will forever be proud he got to live.\r\n\r\nJake had the biggest big blue eyes and a beautiful big smile that lit up a room. He was kind, big hearted, determined young man. He had an immense love for dogs, and most recently welcomed his purebred English Bulldog, Maeve. She was like a child to Jake, leaving his little sister with the intention of loving Maeve unconditionally just as he would.\r\n\r\nJake had absolutely no filter. If that boy thought it, he said it. Nobody had to question what was on that young man's mind. (He inherited this from both his Mother and Father). Some of his favorite lines we will hold forever..."Don't be sorry, just be better" or "Don't dish out what you can't handle"....among MANY others which are not appropriate! \r\n\r\nSome of Jake's other passions were playing Call of Duty, listening to Travis Scott and POP Smoke, snowboarding at Sugarloaf, hunting with his Grandfather Rudy (Steven Russo), fast cars, and of course taking his motorcycle out for long rides. He enjoyed visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia with Cassandra, riding the waves at Reid State Park, and jumping off of the cliffs at Smalls Falls with his pals. The Aroma Joe's in Orono named a drink after him, coined the "Jake Red Rush". Some of his favorite movies were "Step Brothers" "Hangover", "The Dark Knight","Avengers", "Deadpool", "Big Mouth", "Breaking Bad", and "South Park" just to name a few. \r\n\r\nJake is survived by his parents, James Murray and Taryn Murray, and his little sister Jayda Alaine Murray; his maternal grandfather Steven Russo of Portland, Maine; Maternal Grandfather Scott Braley of Palmyra, Maine; Maternal Grandmother Tina Ross of Wesley, Maternal Uncle "Tyle" Kyle Bragg of Calais, Great Grandmother Ramona "Nana" Ross of Pittsfield; Paternal Grandmother "Nunna" Patricia Murray. Jake had many aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers and coaches (particularly Coach Friedman) who had such a positive influence in his short life. Jake had many friends in his life: Cam Barnes, Cooper Holland, Sean Savage, Oakley Fortin, and Jon Bell just to name a few. All who met Jake knew he lived to make others laugh and love unconditionally, and his time on this earth will forever go unforgotten by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.\r\n\r\nA private service with close family and friends will be held on Sunday November 8th at 1pm,but also broadcasted on a Live Feed. A gathering for those who would like to celebrate his life will be at The Lion's Den (74 Main Street Waterville Maine) from 2-5pm.
