Waterville -- Sister, Jacqueline Koss, CSJ, died Wed., May 20, 2015 at Mount St. Joseph in Waterville. She was born Feb. 25, 1943 in Lewiston, the daughter of Herman and Isabelle Levesque Koss. She attended St. Peter and Paul School and St. Dominic High School in Lewiston. She entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Lyon in 1959 and took her final vows in 1966. She obtained a CPE degree at Tewksbury Hospital, MA, in 1976 and a CNA certificate in 1993. She also participated in several enrichment programs: John XXIII Program at Annhurst College, Woodstock, CT; Federation Life Program at Regis College, Weston, MA; International Session at Valpre, France. Sr. Jackie taught at Holy Family School in Lewiston and at St. Joseph Kindergarten in Auburn. She shared her culinary gifts at St. Joseph Convent, So. Berwick; Mount St. Joseph, Waterville; St. Joseph Provincialate, Winslow; at the Generalate, France. For several years she ministered as CNA at Mount Saint Joseph. Whether employed in the areas of child care, nursing, service to the elderly or cooking, she took pride and joy in the service, which she rendered with creativity and sincere good humor qualities so very much appreciated, especially in food management. In Oct. of 2005, she moved to Fontbonne Community, an Assisted Living Unit at Mount St. Joseph. She is survived by her sister, Lorraine Gilmore of Poland, ME; brothers, Adrien of Ohatchee, Al, Leo of Mechanic Falls, Roger of Fulton, TX, Armand of Skowhegan, David of Corinna, and William of Winslow; and by several nieces and nephews. The Sisters of Saint Joseph express their gratitude to the Nursing Staff of Memory Lane at Mount St. Joseph for the love and care they gave Sr. Jackie. Friends may call from 4 7 P.M. on Tues., May 26, 2015 at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Wed., May 27, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove St., Waterville. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Sisters of St. Joseph Ministry Fund, 100 Pleasant St., Waterville.
