Jacqueline Karter, 84, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Lakewood Manor February 5th. She was born May 10, 1927 in Waterville, the daughter of Ernest and Eva Lemelin Breton. She attended Mount Merici Catholic School and remained active in the Alumni Association throughout her life. She went on to work at Hathaway Shirt Company where she met the love of her life, Daniel J. Karter. They were married June 22, 1946. Jackie also taught at St. Joseph's Catholic School for Boys and worked at Waterville High School as the head of the Media Center for 26 years. She will be remembered by many as a "Grand Lady" who would always help her family, students and friends. The family spent many wonderful summers at the "camp" on East Pond in Oakland. The tradition began when she was a young woman and continued until 2007. Jackie could be seen in the water or sunning herself on the deck on every sunny summer day. She was an avid downhill and cross country skier and they had a camp at Sugarloaf Mountain for many years. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Daniel J., her son Danny A. and his wife Kelly of Winslow; their children; Seth and his wife Kate of West Dennis MA, Rachel Karter of Portland, ME., Sheba Karter-Cronin and her husband John and great grandson "Frankie" Francis Cronin of Providence, RI; her youngest sister, Delores and her husband "Ray" Gerard Bolduc of South Carolina. Surviving are also her in laws, Ida George, Doris Karter, Herbert Karter and his wife Bernadette, Richard Karter and many nieces and nephews as well as her lifelong friend Yvette Michaud. She was predeceased by her parents, her oldest sister "Connie" Constance Boudreau, and in laws, Madeline Karter, George Karter, Anne Peters, Isabel Ezhaya, Celia Atkins, Elias Karter and John Karter. A funeral Mass and burial will be held in the spring. In memory of Jackie Karter donations may be made to any of the following: Mt.
