On August 3rd, 2015 Inez Mae Blackie Rogers went to be with her Lord. Inez was born On June 21, 1922 in Clinton, ME, daughter of Lillian & Charles Blackie. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1940. She then married the love of her life, David Everett Rogers. Together they shared 55 years of marriage before David was called home to his Lord. They raised four children and were active members of their church and community. Inez held several jobs during her lifetimeincluding working at the welfare office for the City of Waterville, Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers and The Frist Congregational Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Women's Aglow and State Committee Woman for Edmund Muskie to list a few. Inez was best known for her creative talents ranging from cooking, crafting, knitting and her ability to know when someone needed a helping hand. She was fortunate to travel the United States with her parents, husband and children. She loved days at the beach, writing and being with family. She enjoyed 93 years of her wonderful life and was fortunate to have experienced being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great- great grandmother. Her poetry and stories filled the hearts and souls of those she shared it with. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia and husband Rev. Stephen Rogers, daughter, Judith and husband Thomas Davis, her son Rev. David Rogers and wife Celeste and her daughter Cynthia and her husband Shawn Grasse. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Judy Olanovich, Jon Allen, Heidi Allen, Melissa Delaney, Jessica Roush, Jennifer Davis, Mallory Nutting, William Nutting, Melissa Verburgt & Mark Lancaster, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great- great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Henry & John, and her sister Frances. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Aug 5th, 7 - 9 P.M. at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., in Waterville. A funeral service with burial will be held at 12 P.M. Thursday, Aug. 6th at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, Civic Center Drive, in Augusta.
