Waterville-- On 8/28/1954, I Herman "Andre" Strums was given the gift of life. On 12/13/2014 my time came to give back. Although so much heartache comes from my passing, I was a lucky man, who led a lucky existence. My illness began in 2006. Without my beautiful wife of 20 years, Mary Fay Strums and four children, Thomas, David, Tabitha and Christyna, I would have lost my fight back then. I knew it wasn't my time to go just yet. I knew they needed me to hold on. But these past eight years were hard on me. Hard on them too. My wife stayed by my side from the beginning "til my final moments. Words don't even exist that can express my love for that woman. Please do not weep because I am gone. Smile because I was here. I am a part of you. My memory lives on through you, through my beloved grandchildren, Zakaree, Korgan, Connor and Preston. I know it hurts, miss me but let me go. For this is a journey we must all take alone. I lived a good life. I was so deeply loved. Hold on to memory. Laugh for me, sing for me and believe me that this is not goodbye. "Til then, I'll be missing you. The funeral will be held at his home in Waterville, as his wishes, 136 Carver St. 12 noon Saturday. Any questions feel free to call Mary at 207-965-5643.
