Harriet Elrene Morris was called home to Heaven on October 15, 2011. She is survived by her caring and faithful daughter Mary Louise Tremblay and her husband Norman Quirion of Winslow, Maine, her granddaughter Elizabeth Elrene, her husband Bernard Couture, and their two children Maria Isabella and Edward Bernard of Fredericksburg, Virginia, her grandson John Russell Morris of Altadena, California, her step-grandchildren, Terry Ann and Rick Hebert of Fairfield Center, Maine, Daniel and Lynda Quirion of Winslow, Maine, Patricia and Michael Young of Presque Isle, Maine, and Timothy and Cheryl Quirion of Randolph, Maine. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Russell Willard Morris, her son Chester Ordway Morris, her grandson Floyd Richard Morris, and her son-in-law Charles Rene Tremblay. Harriet was born October 9, 1912 in Davenport, Iowa. She moved to California with her family in 1921. On Easter Sunday in 1933, she gave her heart to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Harriet and her husband knew each other as children and married on July 18, 1936. She was active in her church and with the Independent Order of Foresters. She and her husband moved to Maine in 1985 where they remained until their deaths. They became active members of the First Baptist Church of Waterville. She had a wide range of interests which included baking, sewing, crochet, photography, travel, and completing crosswords without a dictionary. She will be missed by many close friends. We wish to thank Dr. Clifton Smith, Dr. Todd Miller of Maine General, Healthreach Homecare and Hospice of Waterville for their many kindnesses, the entire staff at Oak Grove Center who gave excellent care to Harriet, and to all who touched her life. A funeral service was held at the Gallant Funeral Home in Waterville, Maine. Visitation, services and burial will also be held at the Mountainview Funeral Home and Cemetery in Altadena, CA.
