Harold T. Pooler 86, passed away Friday morning at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville after a prolonged illness. He was born in Gardiner, Maine the son of Charles H. and Eva M. Bishop Pooler. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, family get-togethers and enjoyed telling hunting and fishing stories. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served overseas in World War II. He was formerly employed by Scott Paper Co. in Winslow for many years, as a papermaker. He is survived by his beloved wife: Madeline Rancourt Pooler of Oakland, Me.3 sons: Harold C. Pooler and wife Mary of Newport Richey, Florida; Richard H. Pooler of Oakland, Me. and Joseph A. Pooler of Winthrop, Me.2 daughters: Eva M. Killam and husband James of Skowhegan, Me. and Lisa L. Austin of Oakland, Me.1 sister: Bernice Tardiff of Belgrade, Me.also by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 sisters: Rena Quimby, Irene Pomerleau and Madeline Drouin and 2 brothers: Henry and Charles H. Pooler. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the doctors and nurses in the dialysis unit and other staff of other departments at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville, Me. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home 10 Elm Street Waterville and join them in the funeral service at 11 a.m. Committal prayers and burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery Grove Street Waterville, Me. A reception will follow the services at the Waterville Lodge of Elks 76 Industrial Road Waterville, Me.
