Winslow -- Ms Gloria Gravel -- I was born Feb. 9, 1926 at my home on Silver Place in Waterville. The next day I was Baptized with my God-parents at St. Francis de Sales Church on Elm St. I was named Mary Jean Gloria Marcella Jolicoeur. I went to be with my heavenly Father on May 13, 2015. I was the eldest of eight children of Herbert W. Jolicoeur and Honorine M. Poulin. My father changed his name to Hart as did two of his brothers. Jolicoeur translated means "happy heart". So that is how we became all Harts. I was married almost 50 years to James S. Isbister. We had a son and two daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Later in life I married Roland A. Gravel and was introduced to a whole new family. I was predeceased by my parents; my husbands, James and Roland; a brother, Gerald J. Hart; my sisters, Muriel Guite and Bernadette Williams. I am survived by my son, Mark P. Isbister; my daughters, Paula Quarttrucci and Patrice Connolly; five grandchildren, Richard, Spence, Ian, Scarlett and Jacob; my great-grandchildren, Amanda, Trapper and Jameson; my siblings, Geraldine Timmons, Harriet Freeman, Suzanne Beane and Roberta Goodhue. My life was God's gift to me as His child. I tried to live pleasing God in all my endeavors. Later in my life I consecrated my life to Immaculate Mary, our Mother, entrusting myself totally to her, body and soul and to bring the greatest possible glory to God. Amen. There will be visiting hours from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. Fri., June 12, 2015 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Sat., June 13 at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow. Burial will be at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Belgrade. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gloria's name may be made to the Winslow VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 8835, 175 Veterans Dr., Winslow, ME 04901. Funeral arrangements handled professionally and excellently by Gallant Funeral Home where John made my experience with my husbands' funerals stress free and am sure he will do the same for my children. The family wants to thank the wonderful staff at Mount St. Joseph for the loving care of their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
