Waterville-Geraldine M. Fontaine, 93, was called to the lord on Wednesday December 13, 2017 \r\nShe was born in Winslow, Maine the daughter of Alexander and Alice (Castilloux) Denis. \r\nGeraldine was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Winslow High School. \r\nShe was a communicate of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Winslow.\r\nGeraldine was formerly employed for several years at the Lockwood-Duchess Paper Mill and then for Scott Paper Mill.\r\nShe also worked for a time as a cook at the Klearview Manor in Fairfield. \r\nGerry was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and Duke's Men's Basketball in particular. \r\nShe was very proud grandmother. \r\nGeraldine loved her grandchildren so much and attended their sporting and school events whenever possible. \r\nShe was also a member of a "Touch of Class" for several years. A "Touch of Class" was a line dancing group of retired women who performed at local nursing homes.\r\nWhich she enjoyed this very much. \r\nGeraldine enjoyed her summers at the lake, swimming and fishing.\r\nShe was predeceased by her parents, her husband George Fontaine who passed away in 1988 and two brothers Theodore and Laurien Denis.\r\nGeraldine is survived by a son: Ted Fontaine and fiancee Christine Davis of Belgrade; her daughter: Emelie Ferland and husband Curt of Vassalboro; 2 sisters: Marilyn Michaud and husband Roland of Waterville and Madeline Holmes of Paspebiac Quebec Canada; grandchildren: Nicolas Fontaine, Amber and Sara Ferland and Mariah Bryant and several nieces and nephews.\r\nThe family would like to thank the staff of Woodlands Assisted Living Center and Interim Healthcare in Waterville for their care and compassion over the past few years.\r\nA mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 A.M. Saturday January 13, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Church 26 Monument Street Winslow. Committal prayers will be held at church and burial will follow\r\nIn St. Francis Catholic Cemetery Grove Street Waterville. Arrangements are in the direction and care of the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville.
