Gerald William Bisson Obituary (1945 - 2011)

Gerald William Bisson, 65, of Corbett Lane, died Sat., Jan. 8, 2011 at the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta. He was born in Waterville, Apr. 3, 1945, the son of Perley and Jeannette Cote Bisson. Mr. Bisson served in the U.S. Army from the 28th of July 1967 to the 20th of May 1979. He served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Army Commendation Medal along with several other medals. He was a lifetime member of DAV and was a former member of the Waterville VFW. The family said he was an amazing man and will be missed. ''Beepa'' will be missed by his grandchildren. He had a record collection of 45's. He is survived by his wife, Carol Howard Bisson of Winslow; five sons, Gerald W. Bisson of PA., Gregg Bisson and wife Karen of Benton, Peter Bisson and wife Deborah of Britist Columbia, Canada, Daniel Bisson of FL.,and David Bisson and wife Michelle of Winslow; a daughter, Karen Martin and husband Daniel of Winslow and Michelle Bisson and husband David of Winslow; two brothers, Norman Bisson and wife Marion of Millinocket and Ronald Bisson and wife Rachel of Sidney; a sister, Joan Melanson of Fairfield; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Paige, Erik, Kristen, Timothy, Sarah, Joshua, Jacob and Michaela. A funeral service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Thurs. Jan. 13, 2011 at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 163 Mt.Vernon Rd., Augusta.
