Waterville-Francis Stephen Gregory passed away peacefully on December 18, 2017 at home, after a lengthy battle with COPD.\r\n\r\nFran was born in Waterville on May 10, 1941 to Joseph and Olive (Laflamme) Gregory, the second of their four children. He grew up in the Waterville area and attended schools in Waterville and Winslow, graduating in 1959 from Winslow High School. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the Air Force and spent the next 20 year working in various fields, first as a jet mechanic, then as an Egress Specialist and finally as a Munitions Specialist, jobs which took him overseas to the Far East and Europe. After his retirement from the Air Force the family moved back home to Waterville.\r\n\r\nHis passion was anything mechanical, so if you needed to find him you could always count on him being at "the shop" working on someone's car.\r\n\r\nIn 1961, he married Lorraine Paradis Gregory, his high school sweetheart and together they had three children. They were married 56 years.\r\n\r\nHe was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Sandra Bourgoin, his brother-in-law Edwin Bourgoin.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife; brother Ronald and his wife Gloria; brother Michael and his wife Vickie; daughters Jodie Lachance and husband, Richard; Dawn Gregory; son Sean and his wife MaryAnn; Grandchildren: Heather Poulin; Teresa Lachance Maalouf and husband George; Eric Lachance; Olivia Lachance Gorneau and husband Chase; Evan Lachance; Tasha Gregory, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nA very special thank you to the Maine General Hospice Team and all the caregivers who assisted in his care and comfort this past year that allowed him to be at home with his family.\r\n\r\nFamily and friends may visit from 4 - 7 pm on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Notre Dame Church, 116 Silver Street at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017.
