Waterville Frances Lizette Madore "Chic", 71, of Waterville , passed away on July 11, 2013 at Lakewood in Waterville after a 5 1/2 year courageous battle with cancer with her son and best friend Judy by her side. Born Dec. 3, 1941 in Winslow, in the family home in which she grew up, Frances was the daughter of Emile and Florence Paquet. She attended St. John's Elementary School and graduated from Winslow High School in 1961. Prior to her marriage to Donald Madore in 1974, she was employed by Corbett Brothers in Winslow. After the birth of her son, Michael in 1975 she was a stay at home mother to her son and step-daughter, Kathleen Madore. Frances was a beloved mother, grandmother , daughter, sister, and aunt . Her greatest joy in life was the birth of her granddaughter, Olivia. She was present for her birth and relished every moment she could spend with "her baby". She spent countless hours babysitting which brought her so much joy. She loved accompanying her to local fairs, amusement parks and the beach. These were some of her fondest memories and she was so proud of Olivia. She is remembered by her nieces and nephews as Aunt Chic, the one that taught them to fish, catch night crawlers or take them on a special walking trip " downtown" across the Two Cent Bridge. She could engage anyone she met in conversation and made friends wherever she went. Even in her darkest days of illness she would joke with caregivers and her famous laugh could be heard in the hallways. Some of her son's fondest memories include the special trips made with his mother, and grandmother, Florence to the family Oceanside cottage in Maria, Quebec. "Chic" made every outing fun and her joie de vivre was contagious. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. For several years Frances volunteered for the Salvation Army at Christmas time helping to sort and distribute gifts to the needy. She was also involved in local Chapter of the VFW. One of her favorite past times over the years was bowling competitively in local amateur leagues. Frances was predeceased by her husband, Donald J Madore; parents, Emile and Florence Paquet; sisters, Dorianne Poulin, Mariette Leavitt, Justine Dolham; brothers, Marcel and Camille Paquet.
