Florent Octave Brochue, 88, died June 10, 2008 at Eastside Rehab Center in Bangor. He was born in Winslow, Sept. 6, 1919 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ovila J. Brochue. He excelled in sports and was a graduate of Winslow High School. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WW II serving from June 9, 1943 to Feb. 13, 1946. He was wounded by shrapnel in the leg in 1944. He was formerly employed as a machine tender for Scott Paper Co. for 40 years. He was a member of the Bourque-Lanigan Post American Legion and the Forest J. Pare Post VFW both of Waterville, Maine. He is survived by his daughter: Judith Pomerleau of Waterville,Maine and 2 grandchildren:Kelly Neill of Florida and Kevin Barr of Waterville, Maine and 2 great-grandchildren:Justin Neill and Eliza Neill both of Florida. Friends may call at the Gallant Funeral Home 10 Elm Street Waterville on Monday June 16, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday June 17, 2008 at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Civic Center Drive Augusta, Maine.
