Waterville--Eva Corbin Babicz, 98, completed her life journey on Memory Lane at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home on July 29, 2015 where she had resided since Dec. 4, 2007. She returned home in the arms of her Blessed Mother to be with our Heavenly Father and loved ones who passed before her. Eva was born Apr. 7, 1917 in Fort Kent the sixth of seven children of Rene and Evelyn Dumont Corbin. She attended school in Keegan. The family moved to Waterville when she was sixteen. Eva and her sister Arlene moved to Connecticut during the war to find work. In Bridgeport she met and married her husband, Anthony Babicz, who passed away nine years later. Eva worked at the Bridgeport Brass, Sherkorsky Helicopter and UniRoyal Tire till she retired. She was a very hard worker with a heart of gold. Her nephews and nieces always got the greatest gifts at Christmas. Eva is survived by her sister, Cecile Ellis; her nieces, Judy Ellis, Marlene Grant, Sandra Locklin and Anne Michaud; nephews, Gary Bulger, Richard and Jeffrey Michaud. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Anthony; infant brother, Fred; sisters, Leanna Sister M. Des Anges, Una Bulger, Arlene Fischer and Rose Michaud. Her family extends a special thanks to the staff at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home. Visiting will be held from 6 to 7 P.M. Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 with a funeral service following at 7 P.M. at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Waterville.
