He especially appreciated a trip to Pearl Harbor where he visited his beloved Mighty Mo, the ship he served on during the Korean War. Gene loved woodworking and repair projects; he could build anything and fix everything. He enjoyed helping his sons with home repairs and remodeling, and was always there to lend a hand when asked. He crafted and built wonderful toys for his grandchildren, including doll beds and a swing set. For Gene, his wife and family always came first. He was a loving grandfather and, with Shirley attended his grandchildrens sporting and musical events. His grandchildren, who adored and cherished their time with him, will especially miss Gramp.
