ERNEST J. PHAIR, JR\r\n1921 - 2018\r\n\r\nErnest J. Phair, Jr. was received in Gods loving arms on January 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Ernie was the second eldest of seven children born to Ernest J. and Catherine H. Phair on April 7, 1921 in Berlin, N.H. He was a graduate of Waterville High School.\r\nHe was a devoted family man, and was married to the love his life, Regina Nadeau, in 1942 and enjoyed 69 years of marriage. Together they had two children, Kenneth J. Phair of Canton, Georgia; and Patricia Ann Phair Eggleston of Hookset, N.H. He was extremely proud of his family and worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their individual success. He also enjoyed the time he spent with his brothers and sisters.\r\nErnie, (Husky) was known as a self-starter who succeeded in everything that he undertook. He was an accomplished electrician, welder, and pipe fitter. He was also an accomplished athlete and was a player-manager of a Waterville softball team (Gamblers) that played for the state championship in the early 1950's. He was also a life-time member of the Waterville Country Club where, at one time, he played to a five handicap. He was an avid follower of all Boston professional sport teams, especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.\r\nHusky began his electoral career in Morrisville, Pa. and became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers that lasted 65 years. He received many accolades for his tireless work ethic, but was most proud of receiving the Union's life-saving award given to him for saving a man from drowning in a lake in New York. \r\nErnie is survived by his two children, his brother Robert Phair of Winslow, Maine and his sister Shirley Roy also of Winslow, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister Eleanor Hallee, and brothers Arnold, Clayton and Donald Phair.\r\nHe is sorely missed by his family and friends!\r\nAt Ernie's request there will be no viewing or funeral services. Grave site services will be conducted at the Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery in the spring of 2018 where he will rest beside his loving wife.
