Donna L. Moore \r\n1941 - 2022\r\nSouth China - Donna Lee (Donaldson) Moore, 81, of South China and formerly of Saugus, Massachusetts died Thursday evening, January 20th, 2022, at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with lung cancer. \r\nShe was born in Etna, Maine on January 1st, 1941, the daughter of Stanley Donaldson and Bernice (Cochrane) Donaldson. \r\nDonna attended Maine Central Institute (MCI) in Pittsfield, Maine and graduated in 1959. She went on to attend Malden Hospital School of Nursing in Malden, Massachusetts and graduated in 1962. She was a traveling nurse in California after graduating and then became a visiting nurse in the Boston area. She enjoyed a long career of over 40 years as a nursey/NICU nurse at Malden Hospital and Newton Wellesley Hospital before retiring in 2008. \r\nDonna attended South China Community Church where she was involved with church suppers, cook outs, flea markets, bake sales, as well as community outreach programs. In Donna's free time, she enjoyed multiple forms of crafting, baking, reading and spending time with family and friends, old and new, whether it be traveling or at her family's lakeside home. \r\nShe is predeceased by her parents; her husband, William E. Moore; and her brother, Wayne Donaldson. \r\nDonna is survived by her son, Todd W. Moore of Reading, Massachusetts; a daughter, Karen L. (Moore) Franco and her husband, Roger D. Franco Jr.; two granddaughters, Amanda L. Franco and Brianna D. Franco, of Raymond, New Hampshire; a brother, Richard Donaldson, and a sister, Pamela Buck, both of Etna, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. \r\nVisiting hours will begin at 11 AM with a memorial service to follow at 2 PM on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville, Maine. Burial will be at a later date in the Spring at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, Mass. \r\nDonations may be made in Donna's name to Friends of Acadia, PO Box 45, Bar Harbor, ME 04609.\r\n\r\n\r\nDonna was buried in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 7, 2022, with her husband William, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, MA attended by a wide circle of family and friends. She hosted her spring luncheon thereafter.
