Donald Lawrence Farrell

Donald Lawrence Farrell 59, died peacefully in his sleep during the early morning hours of Friday June 21, 2013 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born on September 30, 1953 in Meredith, New Hampshire , the fourth child of Edward and Jean Smith Farrell. Don had earned a Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, held several certificates and licenses for substance abuse counseling, and had a life-long ambition of helping others overcome their addictions and mental health issues. He especially loved children and had devoted his life to helping adolescents avoid making harmful decisions. Don is survived by his wife, Jo Etta Horn of Waterville; two brothers: Michael Farrell of Lee, N.H. and Robert Farrell and wife Roberta of Vassalboro. One sister: Genevieve Ginny Hayford of Clinton, MA. His nieces and nephews: Chris and Amy Farrell of Mid Coast, Me. ; Stan Farrell and Helene Farrar of Central, Me. ; Sandra Farrell of Oregon and Jeff Farrell of Lee, N.H. He also had several great nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Cousins living in New Hampshire include Charlie, Kenneth, Emily and Philip Dorias. Don was preceded in death by his younger brother, David, and his only son, Kyle Robert Bunis Farrell. No public service is planned, but a private family gathering will be held in early fall, when his remains will be released, along with Kyle's, back into the universe, as were his wishes.
