Waterville - Dawn Marie Parker, 43, passed away at her home in Waterville from heart disease on Thursday, October 13th.Dawn was born on December 27, 1978, in Augusta as Donita Baker. She spent her early years in the care of Maine DHS and chose to change her name to Dawn Parker in 1992 when she became the adopted daughter of Frances Parker of Waterville.Dawn attended schools in Gardiner, Ellsworth, and Waterville. She completed her high school diploma through the Waterville Adult Education program in 2000.As a young person, Dawn enjoyed music, especially reggae, travelling, and spending time with friends. The thing she wanted most in her life was to love and be loved by her very own home and family. Dawn's happiest years were when she met her life partner, Thomas Selby, in 2003. They lived in Thorndike before returning to Waterville in 2014.Despite an increasing struggle with ill health, Dawn did her best to care for her family. An excellent cook, she especially enjoyed baking delicious cinnamon buns. She and Tommy spent many hours watching Marvel Universe movies, talking, telling jokes, and reading.Dawn was a very determined woman who fought hard to survive cancer for over ten years, and more recently, heart disease. Her family loved her very much and will miss her greatly. We are grateful to be her caregivers.Dawn was predeceased by her brother Jeremiah Baker and is survived by her partner Thomas Selby, her son Rasheed Parker, her mother Frances M.
