Winslow -- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Celine Lemieux at the age of 88. She was born in Winslow, Maine the daughter of Oscar & Sadie Courtier Reny. Celine married Philip Lemieux in 1947. Together they shared 62 years of marriage and raised eight children. In 1964, Phil and Celine planted their first apple trees, which blossomed into the flourishing family business, Lemieux's Orchard. Many knew Celine affectionately as "The Apple Lady." Mom gave us a lifetime of love, care and devotion. She taught us to be strong and independent while sharing her many talents, which included sewing, cooking and crocheting. Her unwavering faith in God was an integral part of everything she did, from how she lived, to raising her family. Celine is predeceased by her husband, her parents, her beloved grandson, Matthew Lemieux, her loving daughter-in-law, Celia Lemieux, her four brothers, Leonard, Fern, Roland and Joe and her sisters, Theresa Ferran and Antionette Caron. She is survived by her children, Rose & Greg Fortin, Norbert & Marilyn Lemieux, Gilbert & Melanie Lemieux, Lucille & Ray Foster, Patricia & Richard Hildreth, Ralph & Pam Lemieux, Bernadette & Rock LaCroix and Richard & Debbie Lemieux. She is also survived by her brothers, Raymond and Norman and sisters Marjorie Couture and Muriel Grenier. She will be sadly missed by her 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank The Woodlands for their loving care, especially the aids and med techs and also the staff at Hospice Volunteers of the Waterville Area.
