Waterville Cecile Y. Spencer 76 died Monday morning at her residence as a result of cancer with her special friends, Rita and Rose Poulin by her side. She was born in Lewiston, Maine on October 30, 1932 the daughter of Michel and Marcelline St. Pierre Caron. She was educated in Lewiston schools and moved to Waterville from Lewiston to work in building maintenance at the former C.F. Hathaway Shirt Company. She enjoyed playing cards, watching television shows and taking trips with friends and eating at different restaurants. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxilliary of Fairfield and the American Legion Ladies Auxillary of Fairfield. She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara, Lorraine and Diane and her sister, Laurette Drouin all of Hartford, Ct. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest Spencer who passed away on January 29, 1989 and her son Gerry Spencer. The family would like to thank Dr. Eugene Charlebois, the nurses and staff of HealthReach Hospice for all their help and assistance. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Gallant Funeral Home 10 Elm Street Waterville. A mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 A.M. Thursday at Notre Dame Church 112 Silver Street Waterville. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Civic Center Drive Augusta.
