Winslow -- Bernice R. Hebert, 87, of Monica Avenue, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 with family by her side at her daughter's residence in Winslow where she had been staying. She was born in Waterville, Apr. 22, 1926 the daughter of William and Lena Cote Vashon. Mrs. Hebert was a graduate of Waterville High School. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow. She loved shopping and dining out. Mrs. Hebert was predeceased by her parents; husband, Leon J. Hebert who died May 26, 1988; son, Peter Hebert; daughter, Veronica Nawfel; and by two sisters, Jeannette Vashon and Faylene Charland both of Waterville. She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Sharon and Kenneth Whitten of Fairfield Center, Debra Hebert of Waterville, and Michele and Dominic Carter of Winslow; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie Nawfel, Trevison Harding, Jr and significant other Tina Gentile, Jason Whitaker, Danielle Weigand and husband Gabe, Issac and Brooks Whitaker; three great-grandchildren, Jaxen and Scarlet Weigand, Trevison Daniel Harding; three special nieces, Nancy and Donna Charland and Karen Van Orman and husband Scott; four nephews, David, Jimmy, Richard and Danny Charland; a special sister-in-law, Pauline Hebert. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 163 Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta.
