Benton - Barbara Lynn Maroney passed away peacefully in her sleep, while\r\nsurrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, October 10th, 2021 at the Alfond Center\r\nfor Health in Augusta, at the young age of 66. Barbara, or "Barb" to many of her\r\nfriends and family, was born at the Sisters Hospital in Waterville on April 14th, 1955\r\nto a loving and caring single mother, Geraldine Vigue.\r\nBarbara grew up in Waterville and subsequently lived in neighboring towns\r\nthroughout her life, making friends and spreading her joy to all she came in contact\r\nwith. In 1992, Barbara and her late husband, Michael Maroney Sr (who passed away\r\nin 2014) purchased their own house in Benton, where she became a homemaker and\r\ndeveloped a love for crafts and DIY design. She has designed many craft patterns and\r\ncontinuously provided her loved ones with these specially handmade gifts. She could\r\noften be found browsing in various craft shops, but outside of that Barbara loved\r\nplaying the PC game World of Warcraft and achieved many great things inside the\r\ngame. She was the envy of all her online friends.\r\nBarbara is predeceased by her mother, Geraldine Vigue; her first husband of seven\r\nyears, Teddy Powell; and late husband of thirty-two years, Michael Maroney Sr.\r\nBarbara is survived by her three kids; her son, Mike Maroney & wife Becca; her\r\ndaughter, Rosanna Lawrence & husband Richard; and her daughter, Rosemary Powell;\r\nher stepdaughters Jenny & Misty Maroney; her grandchildren David & Chris Akers,\r\nand Jasmine Maroney; her great-grandchildren, Vanessa Sparrow & Andrew Akers;\r\nher sister, Rose Blouin & spouse Lisa; her niece & nephews, Britney Jackson & son\r\nDamien, James Jackson, and Bryce Eldridge; and her aunt Patricia Holmes. Barbara\r\nalso had numerous friends both online and in person but some of her closest friends\r\nare; Billy Powell, Kirk Whitmore, Becky Emery, Leanne Bolduc and Vanessa McDaniel.\r\nAll services are being handled by Gallant's Funeral Home in Waterville. Per her wishes,\r\nBarbara is to be cremated and joined with her late husband, Michael Maroney Sr.
