Alice King Obituary (1954 - 2025)

It is with great sadness that we share that Alice Marie Regina (Bizier) King-Starke passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 8, 2025, after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. Alice was born on September 20, 1954, the fifth of eight children, born to Reginald and Dollis (Tardiff) Bizier. Alice married Steve King in 1977 and raised two beautiful children with him, Jodi (King) Namer and Kory King. She was so very proud of her two grandchildren, Kingston and Kali. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. Alice recently married Jay Starke. She always said, “He's perfect for me, he gets me.” Alice graduated from Winslow High School with the class of 1972. After high School, Alice attended the University of Maine, earning her Bachelor of Science degree. She was in the health field, working as a Register Nurse at both Seton and Thayer Hospital from 1975 to 2010. She completed her time at Maine General as the Nurse Manager on the Rehabilitation Unit. In 2015, Alice began a new journey in her career as a healer. She completed training retreats in Reiki and Shamanic healing, having traveled to California, Peru and Chile. She then started her own business called “Seeds of Grace”. Alice was involved in many spiritual retreats and festivals assisting her good friend, Cheryl Bean Moody, with planning them. She enjoyed sharing her experiences with others. She made a huge impact on many people during her journey as a psychic medium, Reiki Master and Shamanic healer. Alice wrote Chapter 17 in a book titled Maine Mediums Mystics and Healer, authored by Cathy Cook. She was very proud of this accomplishment and urged everyone to read the book. She thoroughly enjoyed her life in the “Spiritual World”, engaging many of her friends and family in this unique calling.. She had an adventurous spirit, traveling every chance she could. Some of her travels included visiting the U.S., the Philippines, the Carribean, Jerusalem, Austria, France, Scotland, Italy, Greece, Peru, and Chile. Alice enjoyed playing Pickle Ball in her spare time. This is where she met her “best friend” and husband Jay Starke. She had numerous friends in the pickleball community. Whenever her grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews had sporting events Alice would frequently be front and center cheering them on. Alice would be the first to call upon “the siblings” to get together for a luncheon and would organize the date and place for the gathering. A word that would best describe Alice is zany. She’s loved colorful clothing and accessories. She loved having fun and laughing and playing a good game of cards. She wanted to live life to the fullest, interacting with as many people as she could. She asked questions and took a special interest in everyone she met. Alice’s feet were always moving. She wanted to stay busy. Alice was always there for everyone whenever she was needed for a favor. She had a huge heart full of kindness, compassion and love. Alice was pre-deceased by her parents Reginald and Dollis Bizier, her brother John Bizier and her former husband Steve King. She is survived by her daughter, Jodi and Nicholas Namer, and her son, Kory King and his fiancée Alfaye, and her grandchildren Kingston and Kali Namer and her husband Jay Starke. She is also survived by her siblings, Monique (Richard) Studholme, Genevieve (Gerald) Gosselin, Marc (Helen Sousa) Bizier, Denise (Walter) Benson, Robert Bizier, and Paul (Sarah) Bizier and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her loving sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Hope and Thomas Shorey and her Aunt Mariette and Uncle Eddie Roy. Alice will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. Arrangements are through Gallant Funeral Home. A Mass of Catholic Burial will take place on May 2, 2025 at 10:00am at Notre Dame Church in Waterville Maine. A burial will be immediately after Mass at St Francis Catholic Cemetery on Grove Street, Waterville Maine, with a reception immediately following in the hall at Notre Dame Church.
