Alcee Aime Vigue 95, died peacefully in his sleep at home Sunday December 6, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.He was born on July 14, 1920 in St. Come, P.Q. Canada the son of Emile and Clarence Poulin Vigue. He was educated in Canadian schools and attended refrigeration school in York , Pennsylvania on behalf of U.S. Navy, Then after those classes were completed, he enrolled at Wentworth Technology Institute in Boston, Mass. and graduated in six months with a technology degree in diesel mechanics and machinery in 1943. He was a proud World War II veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre with the U.S. Navy. He was also past commander of the Bourque-Lanigan Post American Legion #5 which is the largest post in the state of Maine. Alcee was also retired from Keyes Fiber Co. where he was employed for forty-four years, eighteen of those as superintendent at the Shawmut plant. He was also scoutmaster for troop 212 in the late 50's and early 60's, two of his scouts became catholic priest and one a bishop. He was a twenty-one year volunteer cook at the Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen. He was a faith-filled catholic all his life and a devoted and loyal husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Cecile Marie Ange Poulin Vigue. His five children, Laurette deceased at birth, Jeanne Ann Mason and husband Richard, Robert Arthur Vigue and wife Nancy, Patricia Louise Bolduc and husband Bruce and Thomas Alcee Vigue and wife Eileen. Also by one brother Guy and three sisters, Theresa, Laurette and Claire and eleven grandchildren, Charles, David, Paul, Peter deceased, Amy, Rachel, Jeffrey, Joseph, Kevin, Kate and Kira and 11 great-grandchildren who blessed his life enormously. Alcee was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Aime, Conrad and Marc. and one sister, Lucille. There will be no public visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church 26 Monument Street Winslow, Maine. Committal prayers and military honors will take place Thursday December 10, 2015 at 10 A.M. at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery 163 Mount Vernon Road in Augusta, Maine. Arrangements were arranged through the Gallant Funeral Home, Inc. 10 Elm Street Waterville, Maine.
