Albert J. Ferran Obituary (1923 - 2005)

Albert J. Ferran, 81, of Halifax Street, passed away peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer, Friday, February 18, 2005. He was born in North Vassalboro, April 15, 1923 the son of Herbert and Florence Curran Ferran. He was employed by Wyndotte Mill and Duratherm Window Co. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. He was a member of MacCrillis-Rousseau Post, VFW and had served in the Army during World War II. He attended Vassalboro schools and Winslow High School. He enjoyed spending time with his children. He enjoyed working in his shop, making things for his family and doing wood working with his grandchildren; tinkering on engines; camping; fishing; boating; cross-country skiing and gardening. He loved life and lived it to its fullest. He will be missed dearly by his loving wife, Theresa. He was her best friend, loving husband and lifelong companion. Mr. Ferran is survived by his wife Theresa B. Reny Ferran of Winslow; daughters, Joan Fournier and husband Roland of Sidney, and Marie LeClair and husband Luxy of Winslow, Elaine Poulin and husband Norman of Waterville, Jeannine Libby and husband John of Winslow; two sons, Reginald Ferran of Waterville, and Albert ''Bo'' Ferran, Jr. and wife Karen of Waterville; eighteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren ; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; twin brother, Herbert John Ferran; a sister, Mary Poulin. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. next Sat., Feb. 26, 2005 at St. John the Baptist Church, 47 Monument St., Winslow. Interment will be at Village Cemetery in N. Vassalboro.
