Reginald A. Lessard, age 96, of Waterville (formerly Winslow), Maine, passed away on May 23, 2022. He was the child of Frank and Mabel (Campeau) Lessard. Reginald served in the Army in France and Germany during WWII. Upon returning to the U.S., he married his sweetheart, Simone LaFlamme. He worked for Scott Paper Company in Winslow until his retirement in the 1980's. In addition to his employment at Scott Paper, he served on the Winslow Fire Department and as a member of both the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Reginald was a quiet man, but when he spoke, he always had something important or funny to say. He was extremely dedicated to his family. He served as a Boy Scout leader when his son, Paul, was young. He also actively participated in the lives of his grandchildren. He regularly attended and volunteered in many of his grandchildren's sports and school events. Reggie took pride in his home and was always working on its upkeep. He enjoyed woodworking, and often put those skills to use when building doll houses or repairing toys for his grandchildren. Reggie also enjoyed traveling with his family shortly after retirement. He was predeceased by his wife Simone, son Paul, parents Frank and Mabel Lessard, his brothers Raymond and Francis Lessard, and his sisters Gladys (Lessard) Shorty and Jeannine (Lessard) LeClair. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Anne Lessard of Winslow; granddaughter, Sarah Phillips of Vassalboro along with husband John and their children, Logan, Matthew, and Gabriel; grandson, Paul Lessard Jr. of Winslow along with wife Rachel and their daughter Adyson; granddaughter, Amanda Young of Bangor along with husband Kevin and their children, Samuel, Levi and Asher. A memorial service will be held at Gallant Funeral Home on Saturday June 11th at 10am with a graveside service to follow. In lieu of flowers, Reginald's family would appreciate donations in his name to the American Legion, 5 Verti Drive, Winslow, ME 04901.
